Drop the Knife, Paint Your Pumpkin

featured image by Roberto Caruso for Chatelaine.com

Carving pumpkins can be fun, but it’s also messy and greatly reduces the “shelf life” of your pumpkin. Paint offers a fun alternative with a wide range of possibilities, from funky to glam.

You can stay traditional with faces or ghostly scenes, paint patterns like stripes or polka dots, dip your pumpkin for a colorblock effect, or let your kids go crazy for an “abstract” look. Metallic paints instantly add a touch of WOW and if you’re really feeling crazy… glitter.

We’ve rounded up some ideas from Pinterest to get you started with ideas for your own painted pumpkin!
